On June 3, 2024 Kim.com posted a tweet (1) in which dr. Ronny Jackson, a Representative from Texas summarized a number of accusations against dr. Anthony Fauci during a covid subcommittee. This post focuses on one of those accusations, namely that dr. Fauci would have changed the definition of what ‘gain-of-function’-research means in order to make sure that it no longer covered the research in the Chinese lab in Wuhan.

First I want to show you the relevant excerpt from that contact between dr. Jackson and dr. Fauci from June 2024. Then you can find a second short clip in which Senator Rand Paul also confronts dr. Fauci with a change of definition on the NIH website in October 2021. He adds that this change of definition actually happened on the same day that the NIH admitted that there was gain-of-function research going on in Wuhan.

In the interaction with dr. Fauci, Rand Paul also refers to a study done on all kinds of animals to see if covid-19 would attach to animals. This would seem logical if it were actually from bats or any other animal. It turned out the virus did not attach to any animal at all (3).

Lawrence Tabak, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) principal deputy director, admitted that a change in definition was made (4), and he also admitted that under the generic definition there was gain-of-function research going on in Wuhan, which was sponsored by the US (5).
