In the video below you can hear the first lady of the African country of Sierra Leone, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, describe how well the country could be if they were allowed to benefit from their minerals. She says that all Mining companies are owned by foreigners (Chinese, Americans, British) who pay a very bad price for their riches. She says: “A Country can take $100 million out of the country in terms of minerals, and then they can give the country $10,000“

She also talks about the way that every time a government wants to revolt against this, attempts are started to empower the opposition to attack you from the back, “or they cause unnecessary chaos in your country, so that you are not even able to govern your own people…any country that doesn’t have peace cannot develop” (1)

Wouldn’t it be great if countries like Sierra Leone would be able to one day profit from all the wealth that is their country themselves?
