John Kerry thinks the First Amendment makes it hard to Govern these days

Censorship is a popular theme on this website. We have learned that government agencies and the media are in no position to claim that they are able to determine what is ‘fake news’ and what is not. When you hear people claim that certain information is ‘disinformation’ you should be discerning and question if they may have some agenda, like fostering globalist narratives on man made climate change or vaccination policies for instance.

In the 2-minute clip below we can hear John Kerry, the former Democrat presidential candidate against George W. Bush, express his ideas on how the first amendment can be something that stands in the way to govern properly. If the Democrats would win they would have chance to change this, according to Kerry, who said this at some World Economic Forum panel.

Kerry is also known for his membership of this odd secret society called ‘Skulls & Bones’, just like his presidential contester in the elections in 2004 (2)

Former Secretary of State John Kerry on why
the First Amendment makes it hard to govern (1)

Kerry: “It’s really hard to govern these days….People self select where they go for their news and information and you just get into a vicious cycle. It’s much harder to build consensus than in the last 50 years that I’ve been involved in this.

But look, if people go to only one source and the source they go to is sick and, you know, has an agenda and they’re putting out disinformation, our First Amendment stands as a major block to the ability to be able to just, you know, hammer it out of existence.

So what you need, what we need is to win the ground, win the right to govern by hopefully having, you know, winning enough votes that you’re free to be able to implement change.”

On October 6, 2024 a post that was picked up by both Tulsi Gabbard and Elon Musk showed how Hillary Clinton pleaded for more moderation for otherwise we would lose complete control, as she put it (6).

(3) Transcript of the above video: John Kerry:”And I think the dislike of and anguish over social media is just growing and growing and growing. And it’s part of our problem, particularly in democracies, in terms of building consensus around any issue. It’s really hard to govern today. You can’t, you know, there’s no, the referees we used to have to determine what’s a fact and kind of, you know, been eviscerated to a certain degree.

And people go and then people self-select where they go for their news or for their information. And then you just get into a vicious cycle. So it’s really, really hard, much harder to build consensus today than at any time in the 45, 50 years I’ve been involved in this. And, you know, there’s a lot of discussion now about how you curb those entities in order to guarantee that you’re going to have, you know, some accountability on facts, et cetera.

But look, if people go to only one source and the source they go to is sick and, you know, has an agenda and they’re putting out disinformation, our First Amendment stands as a major block to the ability to be able to just, you know, hammer it out of existence.

So what you need, what we need is to win the ground, win the right to govern by hopefully having, you know, winning enough votes that you’re free to be able to implement change. Now, obviously, there are some people in our country who are prepared to implement change in other ways. And that’s where we’re dangerous.

Really, if democracy can survive unregulated social media. I think democracies are very challenged right now and have not proven they can move fast enough or big enough to deal with the challenges that we are facing. And to me, that is part of what this race, this election is all about. Will we break the fever in the United States?”
