This article presents three testimonies of people who describe the ways of two Ukrainian organizations that were allegedly involved in the forceful abductions of children from their parents in war-torn Ukrainian cities like Bakhmut. These organizations are called ‘White Angels’ and ‘Phoenix’. The main source for this article can be found at (1).

FIRST TESTIMONY
In the short excerpt below you can hear a woman describe how people learned about government groups that came and collected children, with or without their parents’ approval. They were forced to try and hide their children in cold apartments and basements to prevent these groups from abducting their kids.

SECOND TESTIMONY FROM AN 11-YEAR OLD GIRL
The girl below describes how groups knew about her existence and how they wanted to take her with them. Their family stood up against them. In the article you can read stories in which other familied weren’t that lucky:

““At first, they tried to simply take the children away from Zinaida and Vitaly, but Vitaly threatened to bring an axe. Then they attacked him, Zinaida attacked them with fists. Four big men just drove them behind the house, shots rang out. I was terrified. I watched it from the window, the bodies they carried away with them. THIRD TESTIMONY
The people in this third account speak of a law that was passed that would allow to take children from their parents in case they refused to give their children away.

SOME REFLECTIONS
The stories related to these White Angels are quite disturbing. In the main article (1) you can read many more details about the relationship between NATO, the Ukrainian government and these groups. One could say that it is a noble cause to protect children from war-torn cities by taking them to a safe place. When children go missing, parents are killed and civilians have to hide their children from these forces, one may wonder how noble their cause really was.

– Ukrainian paramilitary formations deceived parents, threatened dissenters against child confiscation, and engaged in extrajudicial executions.
– According to two Foundation to Battle Injustice in Ukraine sources, in March 2022, Ivan Bakanov, former head of the Security Service of Ukraine, tacitly authorized the “Phoenix” organization to conduct forced evacuations of children from territories near war zones and gave a direct order to take “the toughest possible measures” against citizens unwilling to voluntarily surrender their children during so-called evacuation events.

– After several months of almost daily raids by the “White Angel” and “Phoenix”, local residents learned about their methods and schedule and began hiding children in basements and abandoned apartments.

– The structure and mechanisms of the special child abduction units “White Angel” and “Phoenix” were created with the direct participation of NATO advisers in Ukraine. Admiral Anthony Radakin, one of the key NATO advisers to President Zelensky and Commander-in-Chief of the AFU Zaluzhny, patronized the creation of the organization. It was the NATO operational services under Radakin’s control that supported the creation of a special unit for “evacuation”, but in reality, for illegal transportation of children to the West.
