We are living in fascinating times. There seems to be no end to the idiocy of the European Union. No matter what they do or say, it shows their arrogance and their lack of realism. Their sense of moral superiority makes them ignore everything that has changed in the world; they fully ignore their own population in order to keep on promoting their own globalist narratives.
We have written quite a few articles on the many aspects of their myopia when it comes to the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, their economic destruction through their green poisonous agenda, their unnatural promotion of the transgender agenda and of course their Orwellian censorship which is presented as a way to defend Europeans from unwanted ideas (1).
Dan Jørgensen
This article focuses on a recent remark made by Dan Jørgensen, EU Commissioner for Energy and Housing (2). He said that the EU should not return to buying gas from Russia, not even after the war with Ukraine is over.
Sebastian Sas
I recently discovered the YouTube channel of Sebastian Sas (3), who posts regular updates on geopolitical matters with a perspective that seems to resonate with the one from this website. Let me introduce you to his style in the following excerpt from December 6, 2025 (4):
You can read a full transcript of his comment in the footnotes section (5). The gist of his perspective is that the EU thinks they are doing the right thing to continue to destroy their industry by buying expensive gas from the US instead of the cheap gas from Russia, even though the United States are rapidly distancing themselves from the European Union with their questionable policies (6).
It seem the European Union has trouble coming to terms with the tectonic shifts that are happening in the geopolitical scene that is nicely depicted in the following cartoon (7):

(1) The United Kingdom seems to have become more extreme than the EU when it comes to many of these globalist narratives since Brexit. Take a look at this lovely video from Katie who ironically describes the current situation within Great Britain.

“… says Union will not return to Russian energy even after the war ends. And this comes from Dan Jorgensen, the EU Commissioner for Energy and Housing. Jorgensen described the ban on Russian pipeline gas and LNG as a point of no return for the EU. “when there is peace, that will not mean that we will just start buying gas again.”
Of course not. I mean, that would be sacrilegious. This will stand also after a peace agreement, which I think is good, because we should never repeat the mistake of becoming dependent on Russia again. Of course, Mr. Jorgensen. Yeah, yeah, yeah.I mean, why return to some sort of economic lifeline? It’s not like the industries and the manufacturing sector in Europe needs it. Of course not. I mean, that would be bad.Right.
Also, you’re saying we should never make the mistake again of becoming dependent on Russia. Yeah, that’s another bad thing. Mr. Jorgensen, you see, we agree on so many things. But how about the dependence on the United States?
Because if you’re not buying from Russia, then you have to buy from somewhere. And right now they’re buying it from the U.S. at much higher prices.
But you see, that dependence is good, you see, because Donald Trump is a friend. Oh, wait. He’s no longer a friend.I mean, you couldn’t make these things up, my friends. You couldn’t make it up even if you tried. But this is what they say.”

(7) I later learned that this cartoon was made a Canadian cartoonist called Michael de Adder, who turns out to be extremely anti-Trump (8). The funny thing is that this cartoon – even though it was meant cynical probably – actually shows the emerging new balance of power with China, the US and Russia working together, and there seems to be no place for the EU any longer.
