There seems to be no end to the madness coming from Israel. Hardly a day goes by or there are reports of brutal killings, tortures or awful comments by Israeli politicians. Below you can hear a report by Scott Ritter from August 7, 2024 (1) who speaks about a series of events that happened at the end of July and the beginning of August 2024 in Israel.

To sum it up briefly: Nine Israeli soldiers who worked in the Sde Teiman detention center in the Negev Desert (2) were detained after it became clear that they had raped a Palestinian man in prison (3). But then hundreds of Israelis came out to demand the release of these soldiers and some – according to Ritter – even said that there is the Jewish right to rape non-Jews during wartime (4).

Another group of people would even have gone to another detention center to demand the right to rape Palestian prisoners themselves (5). But not only angry civilians supported the Israeli soldiers, but also members of the Knesset and even Israel’s finance minister Bezalel Smotrich praised them as ‘heroic warriors’ (7,8). This is the same minister that openly played with the idea that starving 2 million people from Gaza would solve their problem with Hamas, and it would prompt them to release the hostages (9).

At least one of the nine soldiers was released (10). I couldn’t find any confirmation of them all being released as Ritter suggests in his post. The day after he posted his report, Scott Ritter was visited by the FBI at his home in New York (12,13).

(7) “The Israeli Knesset, which is in summer recess, is holding an emergency discussion tomorrow to defend the detained soldiers, according to Ynet. Israel’s finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, praised the soldiers as “heroic warriors,” demanding their immediate release. Israel’s national security minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, has hailed the soldiers as “our best heroes” and denounced their arrest as “nothing less than shameful.”

Knesset members from the Likud ruling party are stating openly that it’s “legitimate” to rape Palestinian detainees. An Israeli mob has descended on the Sde Teiman concentration camp in a mass protest in solidarity with the rapist soldiers, while dozens of Israeli officials have stormed the camp to protest the arrests. The officials include several Knesset members and “heritage minister Amichai Eliyahu.” (8)
