On August 10, 2024 the former CEO of YouTube passed away after a two year long struggle with cancer (1,2). She has been at the helm of this Alphabet (3) organization from 2014 until 2023 (4). During an interview she was asked how she dealt with vaccine hesitancy and misinformation during the covid years (5).
In the video below you can hear Wajcicki say:
“We have taken the responsibility very serious. It was one of my top priorities. And with regard to Covid and with regard to vaccines, that has been a top priority for us. And we have a number of different ways that we address that…..We came up with ten different policies around Covid….we removed over a million videos associated with COVID but we also want to make sure that we’re raising up information that….come from trusted and authoratitive sources and we have been really able to do that.”
She goes on to say that they had meetings with the Biden Administration, including Biden himself and also with Anthony Fauci (6,7). They also invested in actively promoting not only the information from the experts directly, but also by stimulating normal citizens to tell the world why they took the vaccine.

SOME REFLECTIONS
That we are living in a world where censorship is all around has been proven abundantly during the covid years. We have heard the former CEO of Wikileaks explain the way they censored information that they deemed unwanted (8), we just did an article on a former employee of Google who showed how they filtered unwanted websites from their search results (9) and now we hear the admissions of Susan Wojcicki, who probably still thinks she and her team has been doing the right thing by promoting this vaccine that somehow concurred with the start of a wave of excess deaths (10).
