On August 27, 2024 in a Tweet on the X-account by House Judiciary GOP (1) we could read that Mark Zuckerberg had “admitted three things: 1. Biden-Harris Admin “pressured” Facebook to censor Americans. 2. Facebook censored Americans. 3. Facebook throttled the Hunter Biden laptop story. Big win for free speech.” This article presents Zuckerberg’s letter to the Committee of the Judiciary (1) reflects about certain fragments and provides links with related articles on this website.

COVID-19 CENSORSHIP
The letter writes: “In 2021, senior officials from the Biden Administration, including the White House, repeatedly pressured our teams for months to censor certain COVID-19 content, including humor and satire, and expressed a lot of frustration with our teams when didn’t agree. Ultimately, it was our decision whether or not to take content down, and we own our decisions, including COVID-19-related changes we made to our enforcement in the wake of the pressure.

I believe the government pressure was wrong, and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it. I also think we made some choices that, with the benefit of hindsight and new information, we wouldn’t make today….we are ready to push back if something like this happens again.“

As we seen in the Twitter files (2), governments have actively exerted strong pressure on social media companies to censor information related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although Zuckerberg doesn’t specifically say to which degree they complied, they made choices that they would not make again.

BIDEN LAPTOP AND RUSSIAN DISINFORMATION
In the letter Zuckerberg said that they were warned by the FBI on the upcoming story on the Hunter Biden Laptop (3) and that it would be ‘Russian misinformation’. Facebook decided to demote the story on its platform and wait for the fact checkers. Eventually they learned that it was no Russian misinformation at all. They would have changed their policies and processes to make sure this doesn’t happen again – for instance, we no longer temporarily demote things in the US while waiting for fact checkers (1).

NO ELECTION INTERFERENCE
Zuckerberg denies that Facebook introduced anything that would have favored one party above the other. He claims that the policy of facebook was non-partisan.

SOME REFLECTIONS
So Facebook has admitted censoring messages surrounding covid-19 and the Hunter Biden story. We have also seen censorship on Wikipedia (4) and with Google’s leading search engine (5-9). It’s good to have it out in the open that government agencies and the White House itself put pressure on Facebook to censor information, to make sure the people would not easily get access to information that contradicted their narratives.

This story on Zuckerberg made me think of the possibility that perhaps more corporations would see the rapidly diminishing powers of the Globalists(10,11) and perhaps want to make sure that they are on the right side when Trump becomes president. Once a few would make this decision to flee from the sinking ship called ‘Deep State’ perhaps many may follow.
