The December 6, 2024 Presidential Elections in Romania were canceled by the constitutional court (1), based on flimsy arguments supposedly related to ‘Russian interference’. You can read more about it at another page on this website (2). This article goes a bit deeper into the constitutional court.

Let’s start off with a video that depicts the pictures of the members of this constitutional court in Romania’s capital Bucharest, accompanied with the word traitors.

GEORGESCU ON THE JUDGES
Calin Georgescu doesn’t hide his view on the way this court annulled the election. In a post on Daily Romania on February 19, 2025 (4) we can learn that Georgescu intends to prosecute these judges for high treason. He said:

“There will be a commission at the highest level to analyze these abuses, which amount to high treason and an attack on national security. We are not playing with this. (4)

THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION AND THE ROMANIAN ELECTIONS
Vice President J.D. Vance mentioned the cancelation of the Romanian elections as an example of the erosion of democratic values in Romania (5). President Trump would have pressured the Romanian government to not block the campaign of Georgescu (6).

MARIO NAWFAL
