On April 25, 2024 Guatamalan authorities raided offices of the international organization ‘Save the Children’ as part of an investigation into alleged abuses against minors (1). I was guided to this news item by Cynthia Koeter from the documentary series ‘Fall of the Cabal’ and the Sequel series (2). If I remember correctly the organization ‘Save the Children’ was part of their series (4).

ROBBY STARBUCK AND ‘I MEME THEREFORE I AM’
Koeter posted a tweet by Robby Starbuck, who we have gotten to know here because of his documentary ‘War on Children‘ which he produced in 2024 together with his wife Landon (5-8). Since I prefer X to Google (9) I did an X-search and got to an account by ‘I Meme Therefore I Am‘ (10), which provided some interesting information related to this case and the ‘Save the Children’ organization.

Here’s the text from the tweet: “NEW: Guatemalan prosecutors raided the offices of the charity Save the Children, citing a complaint alleging the violation of migrant children’s rights. The raid came a week after the secretary general of Guatemala’s Public Ministry, Ángel Pineda, wrote a letter to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton asking for support in addressing allegations that Save the Children and other aid groups “could be participating in child trafficking operations.

The prosecutor said the raid was intended to search for any documents that might support the accusations. The prosecutor’s office did not say whether Paxton responded to the request. The charity upheld 42 cases of staff mistreating children in 2021, including two relating to sexual abuse and seven relating to physical abuse.

Ghislaine Maxwell has given money to the Save the Children Foundation. Bill Gates and Oprah Winfrey have given money to the Save the Children Foundation. Hillary Clinton was honored by Save the Children Foundation in 2013.  Moreover, Save the Children previously bestowed its Centennial Award upon Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger. The same Disney company whose employees keep getting arrested for child exploitation images and videos. Where did all of the 85,000 missing migrants children from the US border go?”

SOME REFLECTIONS
I have seen the Fall of the Cabal documentary and there is a lot of talk about child trafficking in that series, and names like Gates, Maxwell, Winfrey and the Clintons appear in the documentary. For now I prefer to stay relatively neutral in this case. Let’s see if the Guatamalan justice department can find anything of use. It seems that Guatamala’s Prosecutors have a better focus than the Brazilian Justice department (12).
